UnEarthed Futures; Voices from the DRC, 2025.
Our first digital explores the devastating impact of the mining industry in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and the ongoing violence and genocide fueled by the extraction of valuable minerals. The exhibition aims to bring this somewhat ‘hidden’ humanitarian catastrophe to the forefront, using art as a medium to educate, provoke critical thinking, and promote advocacy.
By centering the voices of those directly affected, the exhibition will provide a platform for Congolese artists, activists, and community members to tell their stories through visual art, photography, music.
The exhibition seeks to act as a transmitter, stimulating conversation, engagement, and responsibility among global audiences. Viewers are encouraged to reflect on their roles as consumers, the broader structures of capitalism and colonialism, and the power of resistance and solidarity.

The selected artists reflect intergenerational perspectives on the exhibition’s key themes, with contributions from Congolese artists based in the DRC. Their works engage with resistance, identity, technology, and colonial legacies, offering nuanced artistic interpretations of these issues.
Rather than dictating the selection, the curation process prioritises the artists’ autonomy, encouraging them to choose the pieces they feel best contribute to the conversation we are fostering. This approach ensures that the exhibition is artist-led and grounded in authentic expression rather than external imposition.
This is an ongoing project. Thank you for your patience as we bring this to fruition.
